I’m an OCN-accredited infant sleep expert specialising in newborns, babies and toddlers up to the age of 5, a qualified early years teacher, home education tutor with over 10 years in education, AND — most importantly — a parent who’s been right where you are.

When is the best time to start sleep training?
The best time is when you feel ready. If you're committed and confident in making changes, your child will sense that. Ideally, plan for a period without major disruptions like travel or visitors. Teething or starting nursery is usually not a problem.
Will my little one cry?
It’s important to know that some crying can be part of sleep training. When things change, babies and toddlers often express frustration or tiredness through tears—it’s how they communicate.
That said, I will never ask you to leave your child to cry it out. We always respond with care, and I’ll guide you in comforting your little one while gently helping them adjust to new sleep habits.
